All three planted outside have been snaffled by the slugs/snails, my last hope is in a large pot surrounded by razor wire, mine fields and a moat with crocodiles in it!

I planted 24 seeds in mid-April - outside, protected with cutdown bottles wrapped round with copper tape.
Last night I returned to find that two of the healthiest plants had been totally eaten.
I have maybe one that might make it...

My work has just announced a sun flower growing competition so they don't think it's too late.

Oh FFS, went to check them and there was a snail literally climbing the stem of one plant! It must have crawled over the pellets to get there...

I stamped on about 20 snails in the front garden yesterday. Which isn't where my sunflowers are but satisfying nevertheless.
I'm going to plant some more in big pots and transplant - I'd heard they don't like their roots disturbed which is why it's best to put them straight in the ground but a success rate of 1 out of 24 isn't exactly great.
