Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Ultra Dunc - therein lies the rub. We need some people to stick their hand ups. The key role that has to be filled is the race director. Once he or she is appointed other decisions will hopefully start to follow and tasks can be doled out. I suggested a small core team of three so that no one person need feel solely responsible for the whole thing and can communicate easily. A modicom of previous experience of race organisation would obviously be a benefit.

Appications to the position to Fetch maybe?

Nightjar - yes sounds like a plan is forming . We need to get a person with experience in Race organisation . Would it be poss for fetch to put up an advert for the post ? I think if the race committe is kept to a small number , the process will speed along a lot quicker .

We looked at some tracks and the like but they were either not prepared to let us in or very expensive. I would suggest that Draycote Water has some serious advantages. It has a tarmac track, it is used for another race so we should be able to talk to the race director and get some contact info, it has ample parking, is easily reached from the north and south by the M6, M1 and M45, doesn't cross public roads and is local for MicknPhil.

We just love and adore Draycote - we are 42 miles or 55 mins away

And i'm sure a day of running there, ( we know the exact laps and bits for the marathon ) say hold all in one a 10k, a HM and a FM
we'd go for the FM

but every body could do thier own thing - it would be simply fabulas to celebrate a day of health fitness and running

I reckon Draycote has to be the place too. I like the multiple distances suits all. Can we do it in November cos I haven't got a marthon sorted for November yet! ;-)

Saffron - race director? ;-)
