Excellent night at the 2nd Assembly NS do! Danced our socks off and met some lovely people. There was a big dance-off with lots of peeps inc dance students. Plenty of interpretation, breaks, whoops and generally feeling the love. The icing on the cake was from a bloke who was up from Exeter on a business trip - old enough to have been at Wigan etc. I'd say he edged the lead if we had to appoint a winner. Creative, high-kicking and down low.
What a brilliant night at Bristol Northern Soul Club on Saturday! The dance circle on the gallery, where RS and I were hanging out, was awesome! The whole atmosphere electric! So many happy, dancing people enjoying the music! There was a guy selling records, so I scored this, to add to my modest collection:

I haven't posted much here lately, but as you can probably guess I've been churning through a lot of music and digging into the mountains of stuff I've got stashed away, most of it never played. Here's one that I remember from a long time back, it's on RCA but oddly enough never made it to any of the 'big' RCA compilations, at least not to my knowledge. It's gritty, soulful and fecking brilliant. Enjoy.
