I've only managed £48 so far by splitting the ticket at Basingstoke. £32 with a network card.

South West trains and Cross-Country seem to have abolished the cheap day return ticket.

However, there is this for a return to Basingstoke - travel out on the specified train, back on any train. Currently £8 for May 28th. Then from Basingstoke to Oxford it's a tolerable £15 for a cheap day return.

Fmail me if you can't find it.

Pre-TBC parkrun options.

University Parks, 1.3 miles by foot from Oxford Train Station.

Oxford Parkrun, 1.3 miles from Oxford Parkway Station, and is near park & ride bus route. About 3 miles onward to city centre by bus.

Harcourt Hill and Horsepath are ok for anyone driving.

Witney is possibly an option for anyone driving from the West using A40.

Oxford city parking is limited and not cheap, but park & rides from N,E,S,W & NW are good.

LazyDaisy Expect 5-10 mins delay just before the roundabout where you’ll turn towards Peartree. Just roadworks.

Yes, I'm used to that ER ;-) It'll be a noteworthy day when all those roadworks are finished!

I'm sure those roadworks have been there as long as we've been living in England.

There will be an Oxford edition of the TBC on May 28th which (mostly) Eynsham Red and (a little bit) I are organising.

Here is the base 6.8 mile route: fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1836701
and here is the slightly longer extended route: fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1836702
