Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Not sure how many new parents there are on here but I wanted to see. This thread is for advice, support and general chat for parents with babies, toddlers and younger children. Feel free to post a little about your family and moan if you need to πŸ˜‰.

I have a three year old boy, he was born prematurely and is tiny for his age. This doesn't stop him though.

Hiya 😊

My boy will be four in July. He's in a private nursery, has been since I went back to work. He really likes it. How about your boy?

He's driving me mad just now by waking up through the night for stories. Hoping this is just a phase 🀞.

Preschool here, he started a year ago. I WFH 100% which makes it much easier for him to finish at 3pm and not need to worry about paying for childcare as I can muddle by at the end of the day and work a bit again after dinner, plus husband also home 3 days of 5.

I have a good sleeper thankfully, hope that’s a phase for you! My boy does sleep talk a LOT and shouts stuff out occasionally but he does pretty much sleep through

It’s an age where they like to test you though eh? 😬

That sounds pretty good. I can't WFH so I have to do what I can in a day then leave sharp for pickup. I have a 20 mile commute which is also a pain. My OH WFH but doesn't get up early to drop him off and is usually on the phone with colleagues in Houston at pickup time so I do it all.

Childcare is so expensive, and quite hard to come by around here. I m glad I get 2 days 'free' and pay for the other day he's there.

He is definitely testing at times!

Hello!

I don’t run anymore due to a currently unfixable health thing but still pop into fetch and try and find time for yoga/ Pilates.

My girls are now 2 (this weekend)and the older will be 4 in May. Two under 2 was a picnic compared to current life πŸ˜‚ We are in the throes of chicken pox - the wee one got it Christmas Eve and then E got it last weekend. Hopefully it’s passing!!!

Ah the pox! We got that one out the way last year thankfully, poor little things. Are they ok with it? H was covered in spots but not β€˜I’ll’ when he had it.

I barely run these days either. Definitely a cyclist.

We get the 30 hours free childcare (is that the same in Scotland?) but I only send H 4 days out of 5 and keep him home on a weds. I work longer hours the other 4 days to take him somewhere on a weds morning and husband does the afternoon with him 😊

Oh no LouLou, I hope they recover soon. The pox is one we have avoided so far.

That's sad that neither of you are running, I am doing some but not nearly as much as I used to.

We get two free days at nursery, it would be more but that is only school term time. It would also mean going to a school nursery and you can't pick your hours. It wouldn't fit in with my work. I need to remember and apply again next week for August.

That's the first week back to work/nursery done so am waiting for the first of the bugs (again).

I'm told to expect plenty of coughs and colds from now on, much fun.

The first 6 months at nursery were the worst for us. They will get all the bugs unfortunately and you end up catching them too. We have had many colds, COVID and norovirus all from nursery.

My LO is getting his pre-school jabs tomorrow, we have Calpol ready as he will likely have a high temp. Will see how he is.
