There hasnt been for the past two years, but this year we we're late getting things up & running & have increased the race limit by 100, so you might be lucky. Alan told me that we we're on the way to 700 entries over the w/e. |

Just a quick update on this. We are now past 820 entrants for the race and it's looking like being another sell out. The entries will be kept open until the end of the week and then its very likely the Race Full signs will go up. So if you've not already done so get your entry in now. All details of how to enter can be found on the website: stockportharriers.com Also if you cant run this we are short of marshals so if you can help please fmail me & I'll pass on your details. And dont forget to look at the Video Teasers to give you some clues as to whats going to be in the Goody Bag. |

Kwaka - is the recent manky weather likely to affect this race? If it continues, that is... Not that I wish to tempt fate - I've had enough of the white stuff...

Plenty of time for the snow to disappear (famous last words ) there was still a couple of inches of ice/snow up to a couple of days before the 4 villages half at the start of the year, but on the day of the race it was perfect running conditions

The guys are doing a reccy of the course on Sunday. Usually the bad bits are around the short hill just as you get onto the estate at the top of Torkington Road. Its quite steep and can get very slippy. We have salt and there is also a grit bin at the bottom. I would say that unless its sheet ice the race will be run, although we will have warnings out about the conditions and telling people to watch their footing. |

Apparently the course was reccyed today and although Bongs Ln was quite slippy (not surprising) the rest was fine.

I was in the group that reccied the route today. The only bits with major ice were Woodbank Park and Bongs Lane. All the rest of the route was OK though and will probably be completely clear as long as it doesn't snow again by the end of the week.
