Agreed - but does that account for the elastic inconsistency, i.e. 400m too fast and 1000m+ all too slow? I can't quite work that out...

Blimey! I'll be betting on Mrs. B next time she races. If she's knocking out 2:17 miles I'm definitely on a winner.

True... but there's a pattern to the inconsistency, which is also odd.

And over 3 laps the "Garmin distance" is consistently wrong, i.e. 1255m instead of 1200m. There's a range of errors of course, between 0.775 and 0.784ish miles.

Might be easier if I do the washing up and don't involve myself in numberz. It means nowt anyway unless you run the times in races.

I will look at your data tomorrow. Suspect the Garmin went further than you did on some laps.

At a quick glance, the 400, 800 and 1km times seem appropriate for the 3:4X that you were running, which leads me to think that when it comes down to finding 1200m of running within your watch trace, it's fallen just short whilst you were running at pace, as per my first post on this thread.

I take the point about coming up short and thoroughly understand it.

But if my watch records 3 laps of Bramcote track as being longer than it actually is in real metres, so I get a reading of 410 fake-Garmin-metres per lap *and that's the same/only data that Fetch works from* should Fetch not be showing the fastest 1200 fake-Garmin-metres as being covered in about 3:32?

Doesn't seem to be working for me so far. Am I doing something wrong?
