I'd say they don't want to make a judgement or say anything that implies a judgement. This is a legitimate option (and probably one favoured by everyone's lawyers as it sidesteps any discussion of intent) even if it comes across as weak.

That's the thing, they didn't need to mention intent, something along the lines of while we don't believe there was an intent to cheat in this case it is best to inform the organisers if you happen to cross the finish line but haven't completed the course so you are not included in the results.

But SPR, you seem to be forgetting that she was doubly unfortunate that day, in that her watch seemingly ran out of battery at about the same time that she wet herself, so she had no way of knowing that she’d not ran the full distance ;-) ;-) ;-)

I had forgotten about the watch, lol.

Anti-doping showed up at an amateur race in Valencia, 130 riders dropped out: cyclingnews.com

A reminder that doping is not just a pros thing.

For the first time, husband Sean Ingle has added a comment on the Carter thing. I generally think he's a respected, credible commentator on the sport, so in the light of the responses above which don't really seem to find the EA investigation / review credible just found it interesting that he was prepared to stick his neck on the line and get dragged into the conversation.

She's actually still in the results for the London HM which is ridiculous.

And Derek Murphy come out fighting about that statement above. It doesn't feel really like anything's been investigated at all, no deterrent to anyone's future cheating.

I think the (limited) positive replies, or more specifically who these are from, to Sean Ingle's Twitter / X post are indicative of why she "got off"...

There are currently 37 replies to his tweet, and I'd suggest >30 replies are negative. The positive responses include:-
- 2 people involved in "Comms" at British Athletics / Sport England
- 2 senior people in "PR" companies
- a CEO in the racing industry (presumably "mates" with Sean)

As jda says (and numerous people in the replies to Sean's tweet) the establishment looking after their own.

No objective reading of what happened at the HM would say it's ok. At minimum it needs mitigation.

The competition only counts if you're top 3 thing is BS really.
