I've had quite a bit of banter with Martin Green about the coverage - he'd be the first to admit he's no fell runner! Martin is probably the most improved runner in North Wales - his marathon PB when I first started running with him about 10 years ago was around 3h15 - he's improved every year since (2h30m in London this year) - I'm pretty sure his 2h41m on Saturday would have been a course record for a vet

We'll have to agree to differ about that last downhill fozzy - I'm a terrible descender in the best of conditions, and last year when I was sort of looking forward to a quicker mile to the finish I'd have taken any part of the climb up to PyP or Waunfaur in place of the descent into Llanberis - hated every single second of it, with calfs on the verge of cramping and throwing me to the ground!!
Nope, give me a climb any day of the week in preference to that hideous, hideous descent!!

Larks - need to do some fell racing for practise. No road race descent is then difficult...

True fozzy, but if my talents lie anywhere it's on running on nice hard tarmac!

I was awarded the Vets trophy as 1st M40 (6th overall) but I have queried it and said surely Martin should have his time on there for 2019 instead (they rolled it down because he was getting a podium prize)
Two previous winning sub 2:40s veterans listed:
1988 Michael Owen 2:38:37 1995 Dewi Jones 2:39:37
Hoping to be back next year to have a much better crack - I was only 6 days recovering from running another marathon
Can confirm the downhill section was treacherous, not even sure trail shoes would have kept me upright (I went over many times)

Credit where it's due Fizz, if I'm reading your blog correctly you made up the 130 places on the up and the down (isn't the 23 mile timing mat just after you turn onto the track out of Waunfaur?)

Yes, it’s also the Waunfaur ascent (but I’m assuming fozzy’s info also included the ascent from the same timing mat). Didn’t fall over once
