Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

The latest model to add to the little fighters I've been doing. A FockeWulf 190A8. I have a Tamiya version of the same fighter to do at some point. Both really cheap at £12. It can cost more just to buy the paints, especially when they have to be posted.

Built any more recently GH?

I've bought a clear shell for my 4 wheel drive 1/10 scale off road car. I need to design how I want to paint it. Might go with the same white/silver with red flames that I did for the Tamiya. :-) G

I thought those were different models cos middle pic looks like grey and green (American navy colours?) it's just the light and photo colour palette!

Looks great, well done.

I have to repair my ball diff. I could buy a new one but... £47 plus shipping. Think I need to bite bullet and just get it out, service, clean, replace balls or other worn parts, re grease and rebuild. Argh! :-) G

Two months prior to the Pearl Harbor attack, orders came down requiring all USN and Marine Corps aircraft to be painted overall Non-Specular Light Grey 602 except for upper surfaces, which were painted Blue-Grey (FS 35189). On aircraft with folding wings, the portion of the wing viewed when folded was also painted Blue-Grey. This scheme was to remain until February 1943, after which time the tide of war had turned against Japan.

SBDs wearing USN Blue-Gray scheme with subdued roundels. Close examination of the photo shows traces of the red and white tail stripes and red roundel center. Time Life Archives.

Interesting. I have another model on the go, when I can fit it in. A Bristol Beaufighter. That will be a Coastal Command version torpedo bomber. I'm going to have to do a lot of masking to get the invasion stripes right.

I've been slowly working on a few new things. An old Tamiya kit of a Yamaha XV100 Virago with rider. It's a very blingy bike with masses of chrome parts. I have finished most of the bike, part finished the luggage and of course the rider to go.
