I'll second that TT! How's the work commute plan panning out? will it be viable to do it? It would save you fuel or public transport costs, and probably much quicker!

:-) Going to be on best behaviour and go in the car tomorrow.... then going to try it on Wednesday :-) I've found that with a slight detour I can get most of the way on the canal, much more pleasant than the main road. Got a backpack and my suit folds ok into it. Going to put a fitted jumper in instead of a blouse so won't crumple hopefully. I think it will be as time efficient as waiting for a tram and then walking from station.

i daren't run along the canal where i live there is a flock of about 30 swans right where i join it at the moment and it keeps getting bigger, i dont mind startling ducks as i plod past but swans tend to fight back and they don't get out of the way

Fab, TT, where there's a will there's a way... when I look back at all the missed opportunities of combining commutes and running, well, it's just criminal!
God yes, BT2, fells are another word for agony. There must be flat bits, even in the Lakes! I do feel lucky having the canal right on my doorstep, and a footpath that runs alongside the river, and then the racetrack in between (horse racing), with a wide path all the way round it, flat as a pancake. There's a 10k on the racecourse in the summer, 3 times round the perimeter, it's fab!
Know what you mean about swans, whiskey, they can be quite intimidating, especially if you've got a dog with you. They just stand their ground and hiss, and then run at you if you don't move out their way pretty quick! Feel a bit sorry for them though, we have 2 lots of swans who had cygnets, both pairs started off with 6, and one pair ended up with 2, the other with none. Keep reading in the local paper how dogs off their leads have killed them :(

I am so sorry. I have been very lax on this thread of late due to issues. I cant say that I have ran anything slower than an 11:47 mile last week.

We gave our dog 'Fell Runner' as his pedigree name as we both love the lakes, its breathtakingly beautiful and calm. We live in the North East of Scotland and we have some beautiful scenery too, but the lakes are mysterious with thoses huge, awesome fells around you. Can you tell i need a holiday....:-) xx

what type of dog id it bt2? i'm very jealous of you scenery, i can't describe cheshire as having great scenerery its nice enough but its very agricultural so its not exactly breath taking. i miss the north yorks. moors. i'd be a fell runner if i was still up there i like trail running etc so it would be ideal

Ive got 4yr old black lab called Sid, who is my baby boy! We are hoping to get another puppy this year at some point. Im going to try trail running as we have a nice big forest beside us, just need to remember the tree roots and not to fall over haha :-)

i know what you mean about tree roots, i always go over on my ankle at the same place up the forest to the point where i'm seriously considering taking some paint and painting the blasted thing.

black labs are great we have one but he's in the dog house at the moment, he's forgetting that he's been house trained for at least 6 years
