Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

That just says Townsend is asking for further explanation of the rationale for the section.

I said at the time, I can't see how they could have done it differently. The ref on field didn't see the grounding. The video replays and vid ref and even other viewer thought it must have been grounded on replay. But no angle actually shows ball in contact with the ground. Soo... no try. Correct decision.

You can blame the camera angles or luck or the laws, but you can't criticise the refs. They judged correctly by the laws as written.

If you want to change the laws to "on the balance of probability" or something then yeah, it was highly likely that it was grounded so it would be given. But those aren't the laws.

And there was no deliberate attempt by anyone to fake or claim anything, so def not cheating. At worst an error of judgement. But I don't think it was even that. :-) G

No one cheated.

Scotland were probably robbed but it wasn't done deliberately by anyone.

“Cheating” implies a deliberate breaking of the rules. This was a mistake, a costly one for Scotland but a mistake nonetheless.
