Do you get to Fetch by typing the name into Google? If so, Google will detect that you're on a mobile and point you at the mobile site. Best way around this is to go to the desktop site, and bookmark it.

I do.
I just found it a bit odd to call it the "mobile" version.
All of the mobile devices the family use have a higher PPI than a desktop, and a lot of them a higher outright resolution. They are all connecting via WiFi and a fast broadband connection or are on unlimited data mobile connecting.

Connecting => connections

Sorry that post was before fetch. I do use the desktop via bookmarks and history.

Mobile sites seem a solution to a problem from years ago. Certainly, one that will not exist in a short time as devices and connecting continue to improve.
I do, however, at times use site specific apps, which can streamline and adapt the interface to suit the device.

Like I said before, I am not knocking your work, just presenting a point of view πŸ˜€ If there's enough need for a mobile platform to bring in more users, then that's great πŸ˜€

It's great to get opinions - I've been asking for them as I've been building - here's the thread:

RiC... Getting sites to size by device size is defo not a problem from yesterday. How you achieve that - mobile site, responsive web or app - is up to the people behind the site. And budget/resources are a big part of that. I work at massive company that with all the money on the world can't get a responsive site out the door..

I've been meaning to sort the mobile site for a long time, and the forthcoming ranking update from Google has encouraged me to get a wriggle on. Fact is, lots of people aren't yet in a position to browse as comfortably from mobile as from desktop, and that's the issue I'm responding to.

Btw, if you could have this discussion on the aforementioned mobile thread, that'd be handy, ta.
