Although unlikely to be this, in their latest email butterfly conservation have recommended erecting your old Xmas tree in the garden with fruit, such as bananas, hanging off, to feed our winter pollinators (butterflies it would be red admirals, peacocks, commas and small tortoiseshells than over winter) as well as an array of moths such as the originally named "winter moth". Separately there was an unpeeled banana left on top of the village dog poo bin for several days over Xmas. It may be a thing? |
