Wikipedia bothering tells me that the town of Gympie in Queensland used to be called Nashville, but was renamed after the stinging tree. Also that most of the world's commercial macadamia trees are probably descended from a handful of nuts collected from a single tree in Gympie. atlasobscura.com |
