I'm thinking about the busy middle part of the half when runners are 3 or 4 abreast across the carriageway. Bikes will be approaching them from behind at 20+ mph and trying to pass them. If one of those runners takes a step into the path of a bike it will not be nice.

And as SOaPM points out some of the lead bikes will be doing at least 25mph. Even the slow bikes are doing 16mph. This is utter lunacy.

Kings Park isn't quite as challenging as Holyrood, but the the Castle above it will make an excellent venue. I can only assume that Edinburgh has so much on around New Year that it didn't see this as an event it wanted to keep. But it's good to see international events moving out of the Capital
