Alloa HM rescheduled for 3rd June. Entries will reopen (they had about 800 places left when they closed them). Initially stated entries to reopen on 26.3, but now states on FB entries have been reopened (but if so, I can't find where).
Severl people on FB asking about refunds as can't make date (not least, as the week after Edinburgh marathon). I foresse discontent , even though almost the first thing it said on the entry page was "There will be no transfers or refunds upon entry." Organisers have stated they are looking into something around this, though.
And the Stirling Tri (whose bike route overlaps the HM route) is the same day, and times overlap.

JDA - chester was full of engalnd athletics vests last year and was some kind of event, but don't think the other countries partake.
3rd June OK for alloa, albeit I think I entered CAAC 5 which will be the Wednesday after. I might not have done though. Will check. Guess I have a call now. My plan was to run London and if I come through unscathed to enter Edinburgh on a GFA place. However if I have alloa a week after, need to decide if I do one or both. HMs on consecutive weeks would be doable though
Actually wait.... I might have booked a holiday then as well - need to check when I fly...dammit

Result. I can make the new Alloa slot and I didn't enter the CAAC 5 which I wouldn't be able to make.
Just need to decide if HMs a week apart is sensible

It's not so much the clash of dates with the Stirling Tri, but the physical clash of having runners and bikes racing on the same section of road at the same time. Lots of people have now pointed this out on the AHM Facebook page but I have yet to see any response from the organizers indicating that they are aware of this and have a plan to address it. Personally, I cannot see how this can be resolved and the AHM will have to find another date.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
The Balloch to Clydebank half was fun on a lovely morning. And scenic for much of the first half too. Second half I put my racing head on so who cares what it looks like.
The wisdom of a finish area in a series of loading bays was questioned when a Poundland artic arrived to deliver more cheap rat than you can shake a stick at. Finishing about 1.43 or so you would have found a very large vehicle occupying most of the finish line!

The Stirling Tri bike route crosses the Alloa 1/2 route when runners come up the hill at about 11 miles and cross the roundabout - cyclists will be coming along the main road and crossing the same roundabout at 90 degrees, so not great for runners being cycled across or cyclists dodging discarded water bottles. Cyclists will then come along hillfoots the same direction alongside runners from Alva to Menstrie before continuing on back to University. The Tri Club date has always been the first Sunday of June and they reserve the whole university setup 5 years in advance. This year the Tri entries weren’t opened way early, in fact they’re not open until Apr 2, so there may be an issue with way more runners than tri entrants and that Alloa has already got lots of entries confirmed. That said, this is the biggest event of Stirling Tri Club’s year, so changes may/would have big implications for the event and the club.

Doesn’t sound great. If I read that correctly cyclists will cross runners paths twice. And also cycle alongside them. On a road that has cars coming the opposite way?

Cyclists would cross runners once at 11 miles thenvycke alongside at about 8-9miles with cars going opposite way. Is Alloa closed roads this year for the first time?
