Dvorak they don't charge Parkrunners to change at the Sports Centre. Need to get back out on some hills, working my way through the Corbetts, only sitting around forty though. Compleated the Munros, so trying some different hills. |

Cracking day for Paisley 10k, the sun came out just at the right time. That last uphill just before the downhill finish is pretty tough, I don't remember that from 2012!

Nice day for the West Lothian Half as well, as always a friendly, fun event.

Lol CamBear. But you didn't mention the debacle for some of the runners (me included!) doing 14+ miles due to a number of wrong turns with no marshals or arrows in place! As you say though, a fun, friendly event. I especially enjoyed cheering the kids in on the 1K and 2K races (though even they weren't properly marshalled - I had to shout directions to a couple of the kids near the front of the 2k!) G |

I heard a few of the signs had been 'borrowed'. Fortunately I had run the event a few times before so knew the way

HG, sorry to hear that. When I ran it a few years ago it had that potential. Not sure if its the same route, but I ended up on a cycle path and couldn't see anyone ahead or behind and no marshalls and it was a lot of guesswork, but I ended up doing c13.1 and so assumed I took the right course

Thats a shame HappyG. I think your pace would have been much faster if route was correctly signed/marshalled. Not only the fact that you spent time stopped looking around for correct route, but I would find it demoralising (pace sapping) knowing early in the race that my goal 'time' was not on anymore.

Thanks damo. Yes, I certainly dropped the heid a bit when I knew we'd gone wrong. But I decided that pacing the second place lady (a Bellahouston Harrier) back to her rightful place was my new goal, so I quite enjoyed doing that. We had some good pace in bits at the end. I need to find another road half, but will have to be after my marathon now. I've got Auchterarder half in Sept, but I don't think that's flat. And some 10K fun. Oh and our club handicap. Plenty of chances for some mucking about with pace. G

I just realised what all those "in memory of Stuart Thomson" t-shirts were. bbc.co.uk That poor guy who died in Glen Coe just a couple weeks back. How awful. What a lot of supporters raising money in his memory though.
