Still amazes me that we get so many newbies each week - we are at run no. 64 this week and if we get 5 newbies / visitors will pass our 2000th different runner.

Yeah, I'm same as WS - under 50 parkruns total since 2008. It's not an "every week" thing, for me. Special occasions, runs with/for friends or family, trips away, speed work during marathon training etc. Love parkrun though. Awesome, grass roots event. Everything that's good about the world, right there: volunteering, enthusiasm, health and fitness, fresh air, interesting places, supportive, fun, friendliness, all ages, all abilities, just all the best of the world. I suppose I am spolied having 3 within 20-30 minutes (in the car) but since Dunfermline is a 10 minute bike ride away it could hardly be better

I wouldn't have done so many if we didn't have a kid two years ago and discovered buggy running as it takes me and the wean away for a couple of hours on a Saturday morning to give my wife some much needed peace.
Linwood is my home parkrun but after a spate of appearances there at the beginning we now try lots of different ones so Isla is known at several parkruns in the west of Scotland lol.
On 85 after Greenock on Saturday but over half of those have been in the last 18 months! :0
Certainly living in Paisley means I'm spoilt for choice with the nearest 10 parkruns being less than 38 minutes drive.

Yeah, my local is 5 miles (longish run or short drive), but then I've got Dunfermline, Cramond, Falkirk, Portobello, Vogrie all within 20 odd mins too. One can hardly complain! G

I just try and fit one in if I'm on my travels, heading to Ullapool and Lochinver soon, so might leave really early and do Aviemore. Headed in that direction a few years ago and did Perth on way up, Inverness coming home.
I think lots of folk are the same, spoke to an Aberdeen Metro guy last Saturday at Ruchill who was down for the Cup Final.

I have insufficient data to answer WS's question ;-). Though it would be interesting to see how many people (excluding those who have debuted in the last three months, say) have only done one, two or three parkruns.
I have a notion that in an area with a choice of reasonably appealing and accessible parkruns, around 20 people from every 10 000 may run each week. There will be a much larger number of those who have parkrun at some point but haven't in that particular week. And maybe 97% who have never parkrun at all.
Some people won't be physically able to parkrun, on a more or less permanent basis. Even if that proportion is a third of the population, that still leaves an enormous proportion of never-parkrunners. If even a fraction of them started turning up regularly ...

AllyC - Aviemore is a lovely parkrun. The cafe afterwards is good too (as is the home/garden shop it's part of - take your credit card.... ;))
