Hugely more popular. More park runs and more people doing it. Davie Black who is one of the Cramnd core team does a blog on the stats every week. Slowly it's transforming our nation from one with a poor record in terms of physical activity to a better one. Long way to go, however

I ran my first parkrun in 2009, went to Edinburgh parkrun a few times before we got parkrun here in Aberdeen. Still amazes me we get new runners every week.

It always amazes me that people who run regularly, or even more so if they are on the running scene just don't parkrun....

Runners I know in Stonehaven (even in our club) just want to do their own thing on a Saturday morning. Doing the same thing every Saturday doesn't appeal to everyone.

I'm always amazed when I pass a runner in Aberdeen and I *don't* know them. yet logically I know there are far more runners that I don't know than I do... it's just that so many people I know are runners!

Some quick stats: Looking at four long-established fair-sized parkruns with nearly 1300 events between them (lowest 180) (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Victoria), over the last two weeks there have been 2638 recorded finishes, with 125 first timers and 118 recording a second parkrun. That is, nearly 5% of finishers in each category. Numbers similar over individual parkruns.
That doesn't include potentially more who are recorded as "unknown", ballpark 10% of all finishers. (Surprised to find that so high, Falkirk is about 6%.)

I've done 14 different Scottish Parkruns, only 5 more than once though. Falkirk being my home one. Perth my fastest course, Stoney my slowest.

Dvroak, surely that means people come along, then disappear again...I think the turnover is quite big, have no proof, but it seems like a huge running club to me. Some come along and stay, some come and go, never to be seen again, and some come and go, and come and go again.
Does anyone know the average number of parkruns per participant, remembering that some people have done hundreds....
Not sure I am an expert, but I did my first parkrun in 2008, and I have still only done 41....I find I am doing stuff on a Saturday or I am long running...in fact most of my parkruns are part of a long run.

I was close to halfway through but they keep adding more and making them further away haha.
12 done (7 of those more than once and with and without the buggy), goind to make some summer trips to St Andrews, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy & Perth plus some others are on our list.
If you are coming to Glasgow and chose Pollok then make sure you get there quite early if taking a car as the car park fills up quite quickly. Very nearby train station at Pollokshaws West for the public transporters. Jordanhill is also only a short distance from Victoria Park which is a flat fast 3 lapper.
Pollok is a bit tougher but a nice course.
