Oh, sorry, didn't read Dv's post - yes, Camelon or Bonnybridge or Falklirk stadium would all be good. :-) G

Agree with SOAPM. Falkirk Stadium is ideal for doing the mile. If you run from the path by the zebra crossing back round to the zebra crossing (like the training group do) then it is pretty much spot on a mile. The only downside is that there is a bit on the car park access road which will be busy on a nice day since it is an overflow for the Helix/Kelpies.

Next time I go down I'll try running from the path by the zebra crossing back round to the corner by the five a sides/roundabout. That would mean no roads to cross and a fairly wide path. It can't be far off a mile because a complete loop without the path is 1.07 miles.

I get it :-)G: I never made D'Nisi's so ah'm oot the cleeq an' just getting pure dingied ;-).

One problem at the Stadium is its popularity: especially, there always seem to be tinies on bikes. The lampposts there are 43m apart, btw.

I seem to have mis-sold Bonnybridge :-o. Either I misremembered or a layer of blaes has been laid. Probably the former, though there have been works outside the park and it's in better nick than I've seen it. Still 350m.

Right, can one of the natives translate the word blaes into something comprehensible South of the Wall please?

Red ... bits.

Actually, I looked it up yesterday and it is shale residue. Ranging in size from slatey bits to grit. Used throughout the seventies in Scotland to cover football pitches and thus indelibly ingrained in the psyches (and often the legs) of a couple of generations of weans.
