Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I think Inverness half, which was happening on the same day as Alloa, was the SA half marathon road race championship event.

Just checked the Scottish Athletics event listings (all SA licenced events) and Alloa HM isn't listed. I'd have thought that someone might have spotted that?

Also looked at the Jack Crawford results. Had thought of entering, but glad I didn't. Optimistically, I'd have been fourth-last for the second consecutive time, possibly second last.

I sent an email to the Alloa Half organisers, in case there were any crossed wires with their licence and they were unaware of the gap. They’ve responded…

“Thank-you for letting us know. We have already raised with Scottish Athletics as we noticed it last week so hoping they will have their systems updated soon.”

Trail shoes or road shoes for Torvean Parkrun? Might be running it next weekend. Is the course flat or undulating and is there plenty of parking?

Road should be fine, it’s undulating, can’t recall, we stayed at the Premier Inn which is very close.

Watch the Parkrun Scotland video on YouTube. They’re quite short.

Road shoes are fine. They have a wee hill but nothing like the finish at Crathes nor the hill at Stoney.

Lesley C this gives you a good idea of Torvean facebook.com

I wore trail but road would do and usually plenty parking next to start (payable I think) or you can park at leisure centre and walk across (few minutes walk)
Not totally flat with a few undulations and of course "Heartbreak Hill" which has to be negotiated twice - short but sharp!
Lovely parkrun though :)
