Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Merry Christmas & Happy New G(rrr)
Went to do Hogmanay local parkrun (Lochore) only to see no one there as I arrived. And no wonder - so much flooding, and solid ice in places too. Should have checked FB first! No matter, nice trot round myself, and a lot of wading. Dunfermline was on and I could have made it there.

Today, I checked at least and had a lovely trot round Dunfermline. Would have been a nice double.

Happy New Year Scotland run runners! :-) G

I also checked, and found Strathclyde was cancelled. Paths closed due to flooding. Very early check and update, as it was teetering yesterday afternoon.

So I went to Polkiedot, which survived despite some course damage, and had my NYD parkrun at one of the more bijou events. It's one which is deceptive: seems benign (bar the hill ending each lap) but actually has about as much climb as Falkirk.

No parkruns here, today or yesterday. Snowed off. Or more accurately slushed then iced off!

Improvised and have started the year with 4 miles on Dunnet Beach, possibly the most runnable surface in the whole county today. :-)

Anyone heading to Lumphanan might need ice skates tomorrow. Some snow lying and an ice warning for tonight.

Good news, Crathes Castle Parkrun will be back on next week. Alternative course. The 100th event will be on the 14th and I will be RD that day, all going well.

Happy New Year everyone!

They’re using the alternative course. I left my micro spikes at home thinking if it’s that bad you need then they’ll cancel.

They might yet Ally, might see in the morning. I'm glad I didn't sign up as I doubt I would go. The drive over there (it's about 12 miles from me) will not be great either. Good luck to you if you run.

The Cairn O’ Mount looks quite clear at the moment 🤞
