Thanks :-)G
Phew, my legs! But not really complaining - I got to do a race. A real, proper race!
Well, pretty much - we were set of in multiple waves, so the field was spread out. I had a terrible run in lovely terrain, with all sorts of issues (not in shape, unless you count "round" as a shape) and PF in one foot was horrible the next day. But despite being slow, getting up before 4am, driving 5 hours (there and back again), I got to run for 6 hours, and got overtaken by a commonwealth Bronze medallist - Robbie Simpson bounding up the huge hill that I was staggering up as he destroyed the course record.
A small bit of progress in these gloomy times. Amazing effort from the race organisers in battling through the regulations and changes and uncertainty to make it go ahead in some form. Let's hope there might be more.

It is fantastic to hear about a real race. As I am also tending to a round shape I'll stick to reading about them for now.
There are lots of hills to climb for now... and no stopwatch involved!

I see David Alexander from Harmeny was 3rd super vet (is that over 50? Crikey, next category vintage for me if so!)
Well done Andy, lovely part of the world, it's where I used to walk with my mum and sis in the 80s, if mum was punishing us!
Good luck at Lochore Meadows Recycle Reuse race on Sunday coming too. Hope PF is all fully recovered. Well done Karen D (Linty) too at Bennachie, did you see her? Don't think she's in Fetch much now. G

2021 Loch Ness Marathon open for early entries. Good on them for getting entries open - There is some Covid specific Q&A on the website which I had a look at and I suspect many others will as well in thinking about "what if?" when contemplating a sign-up. Good they have thought about it - but would be better if the advice was clearer.

Yes - I saw Lintie briefly at the start and then at mile 18. No hugs felt a bit rubbish, but a sign of the times.
Spotted the Sunday local race with only 3/70 places left, so thought I'd have a go - months of nothing, then two races in two weekends. Like buses.

Well done Andy.
FWIW there will be no Devilla races in 2021. That's not official yet, but will be announced soon.

Did we not have 2 lots of Devilla races for at least one year on consecutive weekends?

Yes. Maybe the "race bandits" will step up with an alternative
Which would however need the permission of the landowner and I would think that the Scottish Police College would be very far down the list of venues allowing events.

Very quiet on here. Good to see _andy and run together on weekend. Great to see some small races going ahead too - the Reuse Recycle 4 mile trail in Lochore Meadows will be repeated the organiser told me.
Hi k-pie. *waves* G
