Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I was looking at the London marathon thread and pondering whether there might be opportunities going forward for people to organise small, enclosed multilap marathons (maybe not Kelso's 23, though!), particularly for those looking for GFA.

Maybe not right at the moment though :-o

I am thinking about doing virtual London on the Edinburgh Parkrun course which I estimate to be around a four mile loop if you go from cramond island to the Parkrun loop at gypsy brae and back. Weather dependent obviously. Four miles there and five loops with a bit tagged on the end.

Rannoch Marathon was about as socially distanced a race as I've ever run. Zero risk in running, slight risk on the bus to the half start, but I'm sure the village would very much not appreciate an invasion right now!

Don't disagree with that 57.5, but looking at the website the 10k is still open for entry - I'd have thought if they were cancelling they'd cancel them all.
Maybe the 10k needing a lot less support, ie no or maybe just one water station, less marshalls on course, etc is deemed to be still ok.

That sounds a reasonable idea if the locals are OK with it. Are you going to run?

It’s coming to a time when big spring events, I’m thinking of the races that open the road racing season like Inverness half, Alloa half or Smokies/ Lasswade 10 would have to start preparing for 2021 if they were going to happen. As the organisers can’t be sure that their race can go ahead they can’t start preparing unless they commit now to a virtual race. So these races will be cancelled. Am I too pessimistic ?
