I've just entered Speyside Way ultra. Anyone else here entered? I'm presuming it will go ahead since I heard Glen Lyon went ahead today?

Does anyone understand why running club training isn't yet allowed? It's outdoors, can easily keep 2m apart and could split into groups of e.g. 5 if necessary, even if there were 20 or 30 in total. Just seems crackers that pubs are open but running clubs can't meet?

We are meeting - groups of 5 (or 5 households) separate sessions, distance and staggered start times. All a bit experimental at mo but trying to see if it works.

:-)G - don't know if you've seen the posts on the Harmeny FB page, but it sounds like there are lengthy requirements from SA for risk assessments, etc. before any official sessions can run, so maybe clubs don't want to tackle that level of red tape in order to run official sessions? Seems to be plenty of unofficial (socially distanced, limited numbers) runs going on but maybe clubs don't want to be potentially identified as the source of another Covid outbreak, which I can totally understand. [Just my tuppence worth!] |

Hi Ian! I hadn't seen that one, but Kinross is maybe the same. There are small groups going out but not officially club or anything. And no "training" as such. I can understand clubs not wanting to be burdened with paperwork or to risk being accused of anything. Was more a question of Scottish Athletics and Government than of the clubs. I don't understand why the healthiest activity and probably least risky from Covid19 point of view, should not be supported and encouraged by government. |

Our club has started training again I think (or had until local lockdown). You have to sign up in advance, give your details, and limited numbers. Not sure exactly how it’s working as I’ve no need for training right now while just getting back running.

Our club is meeting every Tuesday, 5 households including the coach. We had 5 coaches, meeting in different places around town. I went last Tuesday and it was good to be back 😊
