PK. They have the medals anyway and they’ll have a date so won’t be able to reuse them. With option 1 you are still doing the run. I live near the course so will probably run the actual course albeit starting and finishing nearer my home.

It's been my view for some months that there will be no road racing this season. There may be a few ultra type events and there may be cross country later. Whether these road races happen in 2021 depends a lot on whether a vaccine becomes available, or not . That may be a bit pessimistic and I hope I am wrong .

SoaPM, I agree, I cant see any racing until we get on top of the virus. Thinking more about Alloa, I wish they had an option that meant you were guaranteed a place for next year. If that was the case I would do the virtual option and pay again. As it stands though I may just let my entry roll over to next year so I know I am in. |

Alloa's not one that sells out in just a few minutes is it ? Never had any problems getting in to it in the past

Yeah, but if lots of people roll over their entries there may be fewer to go around and also if we have had little racing there may suddenly be a big demand. Even if they gave a weeks advance time for people I think that would be better. |

I have thought the same as you SoaPM, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if any races go ahead well into next year.

There may be some road/trail/hill races earlier than we thought. The following is from a Scottish Athletics article that was about track and field, but included the following :- "Alongside that we are working with road race providers; although this area is more complex by the nature of physical distancing challenges. But it is certainly more likely that small road events, plus hill and trail racing will likely be able to return in August" scottishathletics.org.uk 😀😀 |

Thinking back to how things were two months ago, and two months before that, and two months before that, what's to say that we won't all be merrily skipping around events together in, if not two months, then four months hence? Unless of course infection starts to run rife with the relaxations (not to mention many people apparently not giving a shit anymore) and we are knee-deep in chaos in a month time. Whilst out and about a couple of weeks ago, I saw on rural roads both distance and direction markers which looked quite freshly painted. Which suggests that a local running group may have taken a degree of forward initiative in organising something. |
