Some year I might enter that, when I think I might not be last.
This year is not the year.
Since the men's and women's races are to be separated, five minutes does not seem enough. The leading women would still run into a fair number of men: ten minutes would be better?
Point of detail: it's not along the banks of the River Forth, as per the description; it's beside the Firth of Forth.

Yeah, I thought the 5 minutes was a strange amount, if they want it to be a separate race then 15 mins would be better

Yeah I feel the 5 minutes will have the leading runners in the women's race running into banks of the male runners. 10 or 15 minutes would work but 5 is just asking for bottlenecks.

As one of the slower men I don’t want to get in the way of the faster women. Would it not be better to segregate by expected finish time and not gender ? Maybe sub 18 and then another start for the rest ?

Very sensible and well thought explanation on their FB. Some specific aspects that may be viewed as unique to their event. Run Garioch still going I think.

Scottish government announcement to ban gathering >500 people from next week will, I assume, hit a number of local upcoming events.
