It’s all trail so it should be quite challenging.

One could have a pretty decent A9 parkrun challenge.

Thurso, Alness, Inverness, Aviemore, Faskally Forest, Perth, University of Stirling, Plean, Falkirk.

Faskally disnae appear to be 5k from the folk on my Strava. Quite a bit short.

Pitlochry was tougher than tough for me. Def up there with my top 5 hardest!! (Along with Plean, Camperdown, Lanark and Dunfermline)

Lovely forest (So different to enchanted forest at night time!) and nice to see them get a good turnout although parking will be an issue when they’re not allowed to use that car park any longer. Also, they lock the gates after parkrun so if you are using that car park and then going for a walk, keep that in mind!

I've been looking at Princesszee's route trace (4.6km) which works out at 2x500m (in/out) and 3x 1200m laps. Now, with the fairly big caveats that: I wasn't there, nor do I know the area; the Garmin trace is pretty wild at bits, due I expect to all those trees; parkrun maps can sometimes be a bit more indicative than exact: it looks like there could have been a little failure of route-setting on the day, with the hairpin to the east of Loch Dunmore coming a wee bit early. If it was 50m early that's 2x3x50m = 300m. 60m would make 420m. Which (allowing for GPS) could be the missing distance.

Would that correspond to the strava traces you have seen, Ally?

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Short course and slow times. Sounds like a 'challenging' course!

I look forward to do rating Faskally Forest in my toughest Scottish parkrun list. At the moment it is probably Drumchapel, Fort William/ Lanark (hard to separate them) and Queens Park. Of princesszee's list I only jogged Dunfermline and ran Plean when the mud was frozen, so have not had the full on experience. Camperdown is planned for 3 weeks time.

Camperdown isn’t on the same level as your first three toughest 57.5.

Not done QP.
