I just can't do it. I just can't bring myself to use my Christmas crockery and cutlery I feel it would traumatise me too much. I would be heartbroken if I lost any of it or it got broken. I also have some beautiful serving dishes and gravy boats from CB's mum who is sadly no longer with us I would be devastated if they got broken. I even bought a new gravy boat to avoid using it.

As for 'best' clothes wise that doesn't really exist for me it's fit or doesn't fit, holes or no holes.i don't tend to go anywhere that requires a best frock and if I do I buy a one from the high street that I wouldn't be upset if it got ruined type thing.

No best room either. I use my livingroom or I couldn't get upstairs and I'd like e in the kitchen 😂

I have 'best' crockery (although if there has been a washing up crisis we use it!) best glassware, best cutlery and best placemats and coasters. Only gets used at Christmas. It probably would get used more if I didn't own a dishwasher but as I don't want to put it in the dishwasher why use it if I then have to wash it up as well....

By the way Sharkie - is this today's newt for you? It's an excellent one if so :-)

I don't think we have anything we save for best. Generally if we don't use stuff if gets chucked out :-)

You are just too ruthless and organised, .B. :-)

There IS a difference between 'it might come in handy sometime', 'it's too expensive to throw away' and related clutter-up concepts - and saving for Best. As those who Save for Best are only too aware.

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
We keep some glasses as best, the everyday ones go in the dishwasher so end up getting scratched.

I used to be a terror for 'saving for best' ....clothes, underwear, crockery etc. I did realise a little while ago that I had stuff that I'd literally never worn, so I'm really trying not to do that now. When we had a new kitchen a year or so ago (couldn't save that for 'best' as much I wanted to!) I got a whole new set of cutlery...and we use it all the time along with the 'best' plates that I hadn't used before.

I'm not sure that we are organised, but we don't like stuff. Well unless it's bike related stuff, then K has a garage full of it including bikes that don't go out in the rain!

Hmm! I don't have much in the way of 'best' stuff. Probably because I was so skint for so long that anything bought was because we needed it. I have a couple of dresses etc which are kept for interviews/nights out. Shoes with heels too. I'm not sure I'm saving them for BEST though - I don't feel all that comfy in them so don't choose to wear them for daily activities. I might wear my killer interview dress one day soon - I will probably get comments about court dates or interviews :)
