"Auf wiedersehen pet" - or as it was subtitled on Swedish TV back in the day, "Ol, kvinnor och tegel" (Beer, women and bricks).
It was funny to me, but I was an ex-pat at the time.

The Liver Birds was quite bold and edgy for its time.

I liked Liver Birds, but then I thought all the 70s sitcoms were the funniest things ever. In the 70s. In my defence, I was very young at the time.
Mind Your Language, anyone??
(I'm not sure if I should confess that I actually watched the first episode of this on Youtube the other day. Nostalgia value, but not much else to recommend it, really, unless of course comedy national and racial stereotypes are your thing, which clearly was the case for many.)

I had the misfortune of seeing some old On The Buses repeats recently. Nasty business.

They used to be on directly before something I *did* want to watch (Drop DDD) on UK Gold or similar - so caught the last few minutes of several episodes.
