Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Morning all

Quite a bit to catch up with. Lots of good impressive running

Hope you have managed to get out in the sun as much as your injuries will let you LMH

OO I have decided not to do Tissington decided it would be too tight to get the miles in without risking the hamstring. I also will be having the shockwave therapy and from what I have read need to be careful what I do around it.

Continuing with the high cadence shorter stride length running and it seems to be working. My cadence is now naturally around 175-180 without thinking about it.

Gentle pottering in the garden is about all I can do at the minute riggys but it's always nice to see the sun. Sounds sensible about the race.

At least you are getting some sun LMH. Just hope you’re fixed soon.

Quite relaxed about not doing the race. Will be able to transfer my entry to another race. Aiming now for a local 14.5 mainly easy off road race mid June

That's good riggys. Still can't walk without a limp (and it is also limiting my gardening somewhat) so not hopeful but we'll see what physio says tomorrow. Will plan to get myself over to the gym again tomorrow morning - at least I'm getting my money's worth from my membership.

Would be good if ouchie and forest meet up for a hot date

Goid idea Riggsy

LMH - still limping ! Wow, that must have been more of a tear. When was the last time you ran?

Legs were still a bit tired, but today i did the 11m inc 8m steady I missed Tuesday. Av pace a few seconds better but av HR a bit higher, so probably no change. Anyway it's done, move on. 45m for the week, bike only tomorrow, so if i can get a 3rd 20miler done Saturday, I'll hit the target mid 60s.

riggsy - good to read you sounding positive with the change in cadence. Sounds sensible regarding the race.

LMH - some sunny gardening is always nice, and the gym is better than nothing, but I totally get it.

DT - good to see you building the miles back up again. I'm with you with the weather. First evening dog walk of the year to our local to sit by the river in sunshine this evening!

Jooligan - I'm not sure I've broken 20 parkruns (and I done my first when Basingstoke was still the North Hampshire Time Trial!) - 600 is mind boggling!! Nice session there too.

Wardi - nice with the MiL's birthday. A gloveless sunny MLR; spring is definitely on the way!

OO61 - I hated running with colds. I'd rather be curled up at home so fair play.

OO - looking good.

Gerard - good luck for Sunday.

TR - good to see you getting those miles in consistently now!

Not a lot going on here training wise. but I finally got a decision on the meds I had concerns about and have stopped them as of today, which is just as well as I'm currently lighter than the last time I ran a sub-2:30 marathon!
Hopefully in a couple of days I'll start to have more energy and can begin to do a bit more.

TT.. good news on the meds, hope you can build up a few miles soon. Re. Spring, every time I think it might have arrived the temps plummet again!

TR.. still a bit of running progress, doesn't seem that long ago you were crocked! Good work with weights too.

LMH.. best of luck at the physio tomorrow.

Riggys.. probably a sensible decision about your race. I've not had shockwave treatment before but have heard good things about it.

2 x 5m double today, t-shirt and shorts weather!

Wardi - t shirt? I had 2 layers, gloves and hat on early doors..........this will hopefuly be week 5 of 50m or more, it wasn't long ago that I was on short runs on alternate days.......it sounds good until you realise that you are used to 3000m a year. I'm not sure i want to do that anymore anyway.

Double day here too Wardi but still packing 3 layers. Much improved cold today.

Glad you're off the meds TT 👍

About This Thread

Hi

Fetch has said us RW refugees can relocate here. I know there are existing sub3 and 3.15 threads, but the fetch threads seem to be for more infrequent posters. The RW threads are more of a daily diary.

We'll see how it goes.

I'm a M57 hanging on to sub3. I'm unattached harriers so like a place to talk a bit of running and find some inspiration and accountability.
