Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm half way there compared to you TR. Having said that I'd need to make a weekend of it.

It's not even London really riggys, I'm just starting to miss running - even with the pants weather. Wrap up warm for your run!

Yes I sometimes do the wagonways for a change Wardi.
Yes I'd recommend the North East coast LMH, but don't come expecting warm weather....
I'm volunteering at parkrun then have my relay race at lunchtime.

Hope you didn't get too cold volunteering and your race went well OO61.Whereabouts would be a good place to stay - preferably with some nice flat running routes?

I think I must be getting desperate. Swam after doing my gym rehab program!

LMH - if you're halfway to Cumbria, that would take me a look long to get there......Good one on the swimming.

I went out with the aim of hopefully 12m and a preset max of 13m. Made the 13, hammy is tired now, but to be fair both hammies and both quads were very tired later on......when did 13m become such a long way? Need to keep all the good things going to continue to manage the hammy tightness.

4 runs for 38m, aim is for 5 runs next week. If i can get the extra run and up the long run to 15 or 16 then I'll be closing in on 50m.

Lmh, yes you need to be moving next week for sure.

Wardi, how was parkrun. It was pretty cold here but rain held off until 10am.

Good luck at relays, oo.

Tr, yes I think even at the top level there's significant insecurity in training with folk dreading a few down days at this point. Sounds like you are well on your way then with this sensible build.

Parkrun this morning, went to one where sub 19 is often enough to win it. Plan was to run mara pace but we went off and nobody went flying off, a group of 5 or so went off at 5.40s,so I thought I'd go a bit faster just in case they all fell apart in last 2k so did enough to keep in touching distance. Ended up running a progressive tempo at 6.01, 5.57, 5.45 for 18.25. Made up a couple of places to finish 4th but the two lads up front only faded notionally and I ran out of road to catch them without hammering myself. First came in 18.12 so little between us.

Felt a bit tired after yesterday's session and a lot of gunk coming out of nose. Pretty sure I've developed sinusitis.

18m tomorrow for my last long run, should be a breeze after 24 last week.

Bet it feels good to be saying 'last long run' DT19. I hope it isn't sinusitis.

LMH - when i get to the point of consistent 60m weeks then I should be building some fitness.

DT - good going on the 18min, sinuses are always slow to clear......18m will be a breeze for you, would be a gale for me.

DT19.. I decided not to do Parkrun given the icy forecast. Congrats on 4th place given you weren't flat out. Best of luck shifting the post cold gunk - and with tomorrow's last long run.

TR.. top bombing to reach 13m after your injury worries. Hope you had better temps than up North.

LMH.. I must be a bit vain as I prefer marathons with a bit of glamour. I think York is probably the lowest key marathon I've run. Still, if you'll be guaranteed entry and don't mind smaller numbers go for it.

OO61.. always nice to have a few different routes, a bit of route variety here too.
Hope the relay went well plus the volunteering.

As above skipped Parkrun. About 1-2 degrees this morning but no icy patches in evidence. 2 layers plus a decent rain jacket plus 2 pairs of gloves again. Intermittent light rain/sleet wasn't too bad so pushed on for 11m. Tomorrow's temps not much better!

London is the only big marathon I really like Wardi. I'm quite happy with little/no support for most of the course.

About This Thread

Maintained by TR
Hi

Fetch has said us RW refugees can relocate here. I know there are existing sub3 and 3.15 threads, but the fetch threads seem to be for more infrequent posters. The RW threads are more of a daily diary.

We'll see how it goes.

I'm a M57 hanging on to sub3. I'm unattached harriers so like a place to talk a bit of running and find some inspiration and accountability.
