Great to see you here Joolska I think most of us got that RW shock too. You have been a constant during my RW posting career- long may it continue 👍
Sounds like a nice sesh saintjason, you are lucky to still feel good after a heavy week.
My track races went more or less as expected. The 800m was my best run in 2:25, not bad off limited quality speed work this season. The legs are shattered now and tomorrow's long run is going to hurt.

Welcome joolska

Nice ten miler saintjason

Good news on the parkrun DrDan

Nice track racing OO61

Race went quite well. The course had changed since last time i ran it and had a climb of around 3/4 mile between 12 and 13 miles. Legs felt they had the stamina but lacking a bit of speed

OO61 - 2.25 for 800m is rapid.

Nice 10m SJ, when's the ultra?

Great to have a successful race, we'll done Riggsy.

Unexpectedly I won my race covering 14 laps quicker than the other 2 guys who also ran 14. Covered 40.04 miles in 5 hr 46. Went to plan largely, 8mm until mile 23 when got a bit hot, tired and tightening thighs! Running with my mate until then. He decided to run / walk and I grinder it out to the finish. With these lap events, didn't know I was leading and win until finished. Really pleased only the second race I've ever won.

Good luck today 10k ers.

Thanks all for the well wishes after my DNF. It happens unfortunately. Last summer I had a good 5k summer season but this year the hayfever seems a bit worse. Oh well... :-)

Hi Joolska.

Good work, SJ!

OO61 - super 800m time! I've got a few track races entered in summer with Northern Vets and Yorkshire Vets. I thought it would be nice to get myself a few track times in my new age category. I'm doing 3000m next Saturday then 100m 800m and 1500m in July. :-)

OO - wow! Well done! Proud day. 👏

Double run day yesterday and a 5 mile walk. Runs were 5 miles a.m. with a tempo parkrun finishing 1st age group, then 4 miles easy p.m.

Long run this morning. Hope for about 16 for a 50 mile week. All easy easy social miles this morning.

Good to see Jools got the message

OO - nice one, great work. I remember the last win. Do they make you stop when there is no time to complete another lap? Or were you part way round when the 6hrs was up?

SJ - slight downhill from exbury to Lepe, round a cone and back via the coast slightly uphill. Folks were moaning about the hills, they should come run my daily hill.

I didn't expect much from today after a lot of running in the last few weeks and a lot of doubles this week. Expectations were met. 2 wks ago I did av 6.14, today was 6.18 but tougher day. I would still like to run twice as far at that pace in 2 wks, might get a shock, but turning up fresh will help.
10k phase over (thankfully), HM phase next. Plan was Goodwood in 2 wks and then Battersea 3wks later which would be quick, but I'm going to Cornwall now instead. IoW HM in Aug, Battersea in Sept, then Dorney Lake or Abo for a sub3.

Spo loved the gardens, so job done. Ended up staying til 3 ish, which made for tired legs after getting there at 8am. Good time on feet, and plenty of shade on a hot day.

Probably should mention that chest was still achey afterwards and felt ropey, maybe I had a touch of CV after all in April. However I havnt had the body aches this time. Who knows, time for a couple of frothies anyway.

Welcome along, Jools!

Riggsy, glad you had a good run, top work.

Ouchouch, outstanding work on the victory! Did you get a trophy of any sort?

Oo, great work on the race triple. Note from syrava you had a v60 full house of gold, silver and a bronze.

Tr, sounds like today went as expected. Means very little in context of what you might expect from a half based on my recent experience. I do think it's worth keeping a few covid tests lying about as whilst it's irrelevant for day to day life, it is for us to know what's happening inside.

Just the 8m yesterday for 50m week, nothing today as out with family. Just back in time for a beer or two with the footy.

Hope TT and jnr as well as joe all faired well today.

Dan - Nice parkrunning and going in the right direction after the accident. I think I detected you were knocked off your bike?

O061 - That's is a super fast 800m. Do you come from a track and field background?

OO - Nice to get the W in your race. Superb running that. I think I mentioned it on the other thread. I might need to post in one thread haha. Ultra is last weekend in Sept. Plenty of time. Some good training runs already.

Riggys - Tough to end a race with an uphill, especially if you didn't know beforehand. A good workout with training stimulus in the bank.

Hilly - nice double running and age group win during the tempo. Hope you've had a good long run today. Lovely day for it.

TR - I don't recall any significant hills down there as you say. As above, a training stimulus for sure today so draw a line under it and move on to your other plans. A nice progressive schedule you have. Certainly sounds like covid to have lingered so long. Fingers crossed for you that you can move clear of it and start to feel yourself once again. Enjoy those frothies. Good that Mrs TR enjoyed the gardens.

DT19 - Nice weekly total and a rest day is still a training day in my view these days. Active recovery (walking about, standing etc) is still good stuff. Hope the beers are going well.

Also, looking forward to hearing others race reports.

Following on from yesterday's 10 miles with faster bit I backed up today with 24k (14.9 miles) (I switched to km a few years ago) up in the hills near me. Stunning day for it. 2447ft of climbing. Loved it.

Hi

Fetch has said us RW refugees can relocate here. I know there are existing sub3 and 3.15 threads, but the fetch threads seem to be for more infrequent posters. The RW threads are more of a daily diary.

We'll see how it goes.

I'm a M57 hanging on to sub3. I'm unattached harriers so like a place to talk a bit of running and find some inspiration and accountability.
