With all due respect the Lunaman, and it was a cracking PB, his marathon WAVA is still way short of him 5 and 10K WAVA scores from last year. I suspect his PB before Shakespeare was a little soft in comparison.
First method of training is probably superb for injury prevention, a bit like triathlon due to the varied form of activity, but from a marathon training schedule perspective, I suspect it falls way short of the mark.
Mr Fetch himself was posting on another thread recently about mileage and marathon PB and guess what? The more miles you ran the lower your marathon PB was, in general of course

I marathon PB's this year off the Higdon plan which certainly is a FIRST plan by another name, but I'm an over-45 triathlete so it was perfect for me - not, I suspect, for the Fetchie on the Clapham omnibus.

And, to complete following up on Boab's post, my marathon PB was (and is) way soft - because I always blow up after 20 miles - because, arguably, my mileage base is too low.

If he was a Fetchie, he shouldn't be on the Clapham omnibus. He should be out running. Or in Boston

Why is the Clapham omnibus in Boston? And where's Boab gone?
