@steve45 that was official time. 35min easy today. 11.04min mile. Surprisingly enjoying running slow and not getting out of breath. 🤔 |

I've tentatively started a run/walk again. I went out with OH (MaltDrinker) while we were on holiday in Spain with the intention of walking 5 minutes, run/walk for 2 miles and walking again for 5 minutes. After the warm up walk, I was pleasantly surprised to find I was comfortably managing a 30/30 second pace for the first mile! We rested after that, took on some water then headed back. That was harder and had to drop down to 20/40 then 15/45 by the end but overall delighted with that, given I'd only recently had Covid as well. Went out again last week at home. Same plan and comfortably managed the 30/30 a bit further into the second mile without the rest so we'll pleased with that. Baby steps as they say! 😊 |

😂... Oh dear oh my...!! 11.04 is slow Pam runs!! I'm lucky to do an average of 14 minute miling now that I only run/ walk.Or maybe that should be walk/run🥴. Never thought I'd be a tail ender or even last (if I did enter events! Which is why I don't!!) Got a consultation with my COVID consultant tomorrow, review of the medication I've been on since April for long COVID. I'll be citing some small improvement and slow progress. The goal is not to have to resort to run/ walk/ crawl at any point! 😂

Looking good DoricQ. Doing 30/30 so soon after a comeback is excellent.

@steve45 I have never been as quick as you used to be but I used to be able to do 5k in 26min. So this pace is a lot slower but hopefully I'll keep chipping away at it. Good luck with the consultation tomorrow. |

"Used to" are the worst two words in the English language! I really need to leave my history and be more content with where I am now. Thanks though Pam runs, you're running very well right now and phew to those intervals. Well done. Your 5k best is damned good too! I'd like to get up to those interval times. Hopefully, once I've ticked off my 1000 miles for the year in 7-10 days time I'll embark on a decent plan involving intervals and hills. 3.3 miles this morning, 50 seconds runs with fabulous walks(😂). |

Thanks @steve45 I was never fast to begin with but really miss being able to go for a run with OH, so a comfortable couple of miles with him would be great. Doubt I'll do another marathon though I'd dearly love to. Good luck with your consultation today. |

Great having OH who runs too DoricQ. I'm fortunate in that respect too although my wife is much younger than I am so her exploits in the ultra world were way beyond me. Currently though she's nursing injury and long term leg issues which means we get out together!

So I made my 'jeffing' up on the spot and went for walk 1 minute every km until my legs were too fatigued. Worked really well. I'd do that again. @Fenners-Reborn Well done! How did it feel to be walking when everyone around you is running? I got peed off in the one race where I jeffed when some man thought he was being encouraging and patted me on the shoulder when I was on a walk break and said 'Come on, you can do it!'. I was wearing an INTERVAL RUNNER T-shirt and everything! |
