It's going to be a tough week in the MASH tent at the Arms Park, that's for sure.

I really, really do try to watch this stuff. But as as Rugby League fan I just can't. I can't use the word boring about last night, as it was a close game, but frustration. Silly penalties, from both sides. It spoils the game. Plus the use of the kick by backs when in attacking positions. And I'm not just referring to Burgess' punts! Both teams and some clubs have League coaches. Yet as soon as there is a break and the fast men get through, unless it's a clear route or easy overlap, then the ball gets hoofed. There were a couple of breaks by both sides that a bit of inter passing or taking the tackle and keeping momentum going with a quick turnover would've bought a try or had them a lot closer. Maybe I need to learn more about the game, however when I was first introduced to League I was immediately bored by the England style back then under Rob Andrew and co. Has much changed?

And yes I do know that there is a lot of skill, strength etc in the ducks, mauls and scrums. But unless you are there playing it and getting stuck in I don't see the appeal.

I'm the opposite Dave A, I love union and find league difficult to enjoy. I reckon if you don't like the scrums and the mauls etc. you'll struggle to enjoy most matches. Did you watch the SA v. Japan game? That had lots of running rugby.

There is nothing quite like a rolling maul. The things Dave you can't get are what makes union fans tick!

The world would be a pretty dull place if all games were the same. Hence 2 versions of rugby for us to enjoy in 2 separate ways.

I'm going to Ireland v Romania at Wembley today. Somehow I doubt it will have the intensity of last night's match!

I didn't sleep very well last night. Kept on asking myself why England gave too many penalties away (lack of discipline as against France in Paris) and why didn't we go for goal instead of kicking to the corner with two minutes left.
