Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ah well, just bear in mind when comparing mileage that there was a little puddle of sweat when I finished my 15-minute kilometre tonight. Query for the evening - all those of you who have rowing machines at home - do you get to keep them in living space or relegated to the garage?

Ours in the main bedroom at the moment. 10 years ago we had a one bedroom flat with a very wide hallway so that's where it lived, and in a previous house it was in the spare bedroom. Not sure I'd put it in a garage but I do drag it out into the garden in the summer sometimes.

Jan challenge done
10km 39:13.
Back was a bit stiff so started easy, so a sub 39 looks like it's on the cards.

Nice going FF!

I did my interval set on Wednesday and have just done time on bum practice working up to 10K. 8271m in 40 mins would give me a 10K time of 48:20ish if I kept the same pace.

It wasn't as uncomfortable as I remember so maybe I'll do a 10K each weekend in January now and see if I can beat my time from two years ago.

Thanks, Not far to go for you sallykate.

I know what you mean about discomfort, I can't believe how uncomfortable things become after a few weeks out of the saddle. This must mean this rowing must be doing us some good.
Not sure I would want to go on for another 10 mins though, good luck.

Icy pavements meant a tempo outside was not sensible so swapped it for a 10km row - 38:55.1 :-)
My back is a bit stiff now :-(
