Morrisons have announced that they're bringing back paper bags for fruit and veg - they'll still have a plastic window though so the cashier can see what's inside

I actually tought it was Iceland who had committed to having plastic free fruit and veg by 2020. By way of support I went into the local one for the first time ever when I heard the announcement, but like Aldi everything was wrapped in plastic. So, similarly I walked out again and went over to the fruit and veg shop and got everything in paper bags.

I have realised that I need to use the scan as you go things in Tesco or weigh the fruit/veg to get a barcode or something. I'm sick of putting loads of loose produce in my trolley, unloading it all onto the belt and then repacking it into a bag (after chasing it as it rolls down to the packing area). I wish we had a handy green grocers but we don't.

I recently got a couple of beeswax wraps for food to replace clingfilm and silver foil Unfortunately Marigold says they *taste* her butties and won't eat anything I put in the new wraps. Sigh.

Morrisons have confirmed that anything bought from meat, fish or deli counters can be put into your own packaging

I'm pretty close to being waste-free.
WA - I wrap my lunch in parchment paper secured by elastic bands or string. If it's sloppy or has a few components, I put it in a large glass jar or several small ones if I need to keep flavours separate.

Like halfpint we use the self service scanner when buying loose fruit and vegetables as the assistant puts them in a plastic bag when s/he weighs them. We’re lucky in having a fruit and veg stall though so use that where possible.
The homemade wax wraps are working well. No good if you’re vegan but good for us. I can’t taste them but maybe my tastebuds aren’t as sensitive!

I bought some wraps to support a local business; they're made with soya wax. They don't smell of anything much.
I rarely use supermarkets as I get an organic bag deliveredand have good local shops. When I have to pop in to a supermarket, I often have to revise my shopping according to what's not wrapped in plastic.

Some beeswax wraps have pine resin in them to make them more sticky. That could be what the taste is.
