Thanks @Jenelopy - yah that is the problem am having with compostable is that it could be like the biofuels. Agree reduce is the most important.

@gt - have always used tupperware. Works really well.

@TeeBee - tin foil can be washed & reused multiple times. As for recycling have noted that our recycling requires no food on the foil if it is to be recycled.

I haven't used aluminium foil for years and got rid of any aluminium pans a long time ago too. Studies have indicated that it can leach into food which is then ingested.

I find wet parchment paper a good alternative for wrapping things which need to go in the oven or making "tents" to steam/roast stuff.

We’re making our first wax wraps to be tested out tomorrow. (Well I say we, my husband is doing it and I’m providing encouragement!)
