Also what about thing that we can't do anything about such as cardboard or juice cartoons?

I think our council are still collecting ours. If they stop then I'll stockpile it in the back garden. We got a new delivery of the recycling bags so provided I don't run out of them it should be OK.

Council took our paper and card this week and our plastics and tins last week. They've said they aren't taking garden waste for the time being but so far so good.

Compost shrinks in volume quite quickly, so I expect our bins to continue to swallow a fair amount of garden waste, kitchen scraps and cardboard. Might even turn the garden waste wheelie bin into an extra compost receptacle for now.
Our main challenge is the lack of charity shops (for decent clothes that no longer fit or suit us) and tips (for old carpets, paint cans and other decorating detritus). The clothes will keep, and we'll put the large rubbish in the garage until either the tips reopen or there's enough to justify a skip.

Noticed yesterday that the various recycling banks at the local Sainsbury's have had the openings taped up and been surrounded by Heras fencing.

My green bin is now full and they didn’t take it or cardboard yesterday.
We hadn’t been told officially about the collection not happening just social media
I have several yellow bags so will stash cardboard
I will try to get another compost bin too Mine hasn’t worked well so I will empty that into the new one and try again

None of ours is being collected. We are washing and stashing glass, plastic and metal as best we can for now but might run out of space. No garden waste or compost collection, but standard rubbish collection is back to weekly which is good.
