Jar Jar (Me's a comin' massa) was made so much worse by having the racist Japanese stereotype villains in the same film.

Jar Jar should not be spoken about.

My boys (7, 10, 13, 16) have now seen them all. But I seem to have failed as a parent, as the 10 year old came out of TFA and said he really enjoyed it, but Attack of the Clones was still his favourite.
I need some sort of Jedi mind trick to correct him...

I'd just disown him larkim. You have 3 others anyway Mine rated AotC higher than TFA originally but has revised on second viewing of TFA (and threats to send him to live with grandparents).

I can't believe that Darth Jar Jar has you all fooled.;-)
Finally got to see TFA this morning. Loved it. I'm sure there are plenty of plot holes and contrivances but think back to 1977: did any of us care back then either when the film was so much FUN?

I believe the most recent 3 suffered through making them a bit cartoonish and of course terribly wooden acting. New Hope was quite dark with humorous bits pretty much like TFA. Arguably Kylo Ren was darker than Vader.

TRO Saracen
Kylo Ren was really shaping up nicely on the dark villain front, but whipping his mask off ruined it.
After that he came across more as a bloke who looked like Severus Snape from Harry Potter in a black cloak with a silly mask. Less is more, sometimes. A big mistake.

Little P's favourite episode at the moment is Return Of The Jedi, not because of the Ewoks (thank God) but because of Darth Vader's redemption at the end. That's quite deep for an 8 year old!
I'm going to be forced to go on a Star Wars fest at home and drag Little P to the cinema at watch TFA again and see if she changes her mind.

I'd disagree with that Saracen as I think it added to the film. He was then disfigured at the end of the film with the light sabre because he wasn't wearing a mask.
