Sushi - I never feel hard done by if the age prize goes to someone else because I've placed in the top three - as long as it's the lesser prize of course!
um - I don't think there are many races now where the prizes aren't equal in the male and female categories fortunately.

It's technically possible for a women to win two trophies at some of our clubs handicaps as they are old races. Women didn't run when they were set up, there is a winners trophy and a women's winners trophy (added later), but in 150+ years of being around its never actually happened.
Changing the rules requires a change to our clubs constitution and just isn't worth the faff.

Sushi.
That’s good LMH but I’d feel a fraud taking the lower value prize if I was really the 2nd one back

Thank you everyone for your responses, feedback has been passed back to the RD. I have seen both these scenarios in previous races but generally only run ultras now so was wondering what the norm was for shorter races

My experience of ultras is that there are no prizes at all Anna.

I never see the prize givings at ultras as I am normally a long way from the finish but have a friend who regularly wins trophies so they do exist
