What do you use for your post run refuel? Is it a shake or a supplement or just a glass of water?

my trip away, spending time with other runners got me thinking that I should pay a bit more attention to how i refuel. (I often just grab a slice of toast and a cup of tea) So i wondered what other Fetchies do and if there are any reccommendations or things to avoid.

tuna buttie did the job, especially when I had a longish drive home. Got the idea from RW from a time now lost in the mists of racing.

Any food that I can get my grubby paws on...including an electrolyte drink to replenish the electrolytes. If it's going to be a while before I can get anything, I'll make a protein shake for afterwards.

Depends how far I have run as well, higher mileage would be chic milk, packet of crisps for salt replacement and a yogurt.

Mrs Jigs, Garfield: I'm combining your two ideas, using double choc & peanut butter flavour protein shake [water based]. Gym owner suggested more protein might help knee recovery.

Yes swittle, many people forget about the need for protein for recovery/healing.

So I was wondering about protein shakes? I thought I might try some after harder runs. Any brands that you'd suggest or are disgusting? ( I fancy the chocolate flavour idea )
