Agreed Ultracat! 10 miles in the slush and biting wind on Saturday was not fun (esp with hangover).

Paris is 4-5 celsius warmer than London at the mo, let's hope it improves as I didn't factor in cold, rain or snow when I first dreamt of marathoning in Springtime in Paris :-)

Hi all, first post on the Paris thread. I'm getting seriously nervous...first marathon!
My training went really well. 4 x 20 milers and 2 quick-ish half marathons (1:34) I really thought I was on for a 3:30 marathon. 2 weeks ago I stuffed my achilles running the Grizzly in Devon (21 mile trail run) I havnt run since and I'm having shockwave therapy! Starting to feel strong and cross training hard.....seems I'm gooing to find out what happens if you dont run for 4 weeks before a marathon....who knows!! One thing for sure it will be a PB!

Dick!
Hey Nelmar ; The most important thing is to enjoy it , you could not have picked a better one for

your first , done lots and Paris is my fav of the lot . Dont get too hung up

on your time ,plenty more marathons in the future to go P.B hunting . Good luck

The wisest words I was told before my first marathon "the times will come, worry about them later. You only run your first marathon once"
