This marathon is really complicated! Does anyone know if someone else can collect your race number? I can't find it anywhere on the marathon website. My parents are getting to Paris on Thursday and I don't land until Saturday lunch time so it would make my life much easier if they can pick it up. My mum has my convocation, medical certificate and driving licence, does anyone know if that will be ok?
Getting close now!! :D

I think you have to pick it up yourself due to having to show ID but that is just a guess. As you say its not very clear.

Like kimbles says , I don't know for a fact but I doubt they will be able to , hence showing the ID , for London someone else can but you need a letter with authority showing a signature on which then matches ID signature ........... I guess they could try ....... whats the worse than can happen , they say no and you need to do it sat afternoon .......... the information side of paris isn't quite the same as I'd hoped but I'm figuring most of it out

Bah! Trying to sort out my medical certificate. Took form, completed apart from signature, to the surgery was told someone would call me back and that it would be £25. That was last week. Have chased but no one has got back to me. Shame they don't allow you to use you UKA card as proof that you are fit to fun as they do for Paris - Versailles.

MrsB , I've been reliably informed that most people just sign their own in the doctors name , but if your quick about it and ask nicely .......... I had mine signed and stamped by a certain fetchie dino doctor from up north

Do people really get barred from the race having gone all the way to Paris because they hadn't brought a medical certificate? It must have happened given that it's not a normal requirement and they're supposed to be strict on it. But although I've seen loads of posts (here and elsewhere on the Internet) from people having real trouble getting a certificate I've not seen a post from someone bemoaning their wasted journey.
To be absolutely clear: I'm not saying that those who haven't got certificates shouldn't worry about it. It's just all a bit odd. One of my clubmates has just posted to say her GP has told her they can't give her an appointment until the week after Paris.

I have seen various comments on facebook about cut off times for the race..... does anyone know if there is a cut off time for receiving medals? and if this time is taken from the first person starting or the last person starting? I tried looking on the marathon website, but as you guys have commented above its not exactly the most informative race!

I don't know how strict they will be about not handing out medals, but the cut off is 6 hours from when the last runner crosses the start line
