Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Evening! I've signed up for this race. It will be my 3rd marathon and first non-UK race! Currently recovering from the Yorkshire marathon and am aiming to go sub-5hrs in Paris.

I'm looking forward to this. My Hal Higdon Training Plan starts 8th December. I've really been taking it easy since York - then I caught a cold - but I'm off for a wee run this morning: my first in a dozen days. Coincidentally, Jo_London, it'll by my next marathon after Yorkshire too. What a great race that was.

Hi jo_london we should be close to each other then as sub 5 is also my target , might even try for around the 4.30 ish time but was so close to 5 this year in London which is a more congested course and I was running with a club mate who kept needing the stop and stretch ..... I'll be starting my training program at Xmas but hoping to be starting from a better base of fitness :-)

4:30 is my target time for Paris. I'd aimed for sub-5 in Yorkshire and made it with about 6 minutes to spare. Some serious winter training ahead, with more focus on nutrition (i.e. shedding more pounds), and I'm pretty hopeful I'll be sticking to that pacer - assuming there'll be pacers.

Paris is going to be my first marathon. Starting a slightly extended (due to being away at Christmas) Pfitzinger & Douglas 55 mile plan next week. I'm in the slowest pen but if my training goes well I hope to be around four hours. My main aim is to finish it and enjoy the experience
