The amazing Wilson was indeed an excellent read...but of course he was taking a 'herbal potion' to make him acheive those feats ! Sounds a bit dodgy to me

Well, it looks like the place for me. 51, started running for real in spring last year, and I've done four 5ks and two 10ks.
But I've been laid up with a man cold over the Christmas break, havn't run since Christmas morning, hardly a soul out. Back at work and raring to go, first run of the year on Sunday morning, if I can face it...
Have finally got my broadband at home so I don't need to waste time at work, anymore. THis year I'd like to crack the 60 minutes for the 10k but it means some serious training.

Hi everyone, name is Alex
I'ma Yank from NYC. I'm 58 and used to run with Millrose AA back in the 70's. We were the 1st American team to win the London-to-Brighton race. We had a strong "ultra" squad back then! But now I'm just a fat, slow old codger. I'm doing 60 mile weeks, and trying to drop weight. I'm 6'1" 215 lbs.
Had an interlude with bodybuilding and bike racing. Lifting heavy gave me muscle that doesn't seem to want to go away. Presently a retired academic (lit. prof.) I'm presently racing with New York Road Runner's Club (we sponsor NYC Marathon). Best times were: Marathon=3:00, 1/2 marathon=1:20, 10K=36. Right now struggling to break 9:00 min/mi. pace
Nice to find you guys! Good running!

Welcome NoJoke - bumped into you somewhere else this evening. I'm half your weight, but you're still twice as fast as me.
