I did express interest but got no answer at the time as to why the "sell by date"

I also sent an out of date stick, and have received a letter back pointing out that I should have a June 23 stick. Indeed I should, but having gone through the mail pile only located an older one (yes, that's how assiduous i am regarding the mail).

The poo collection bottle contains a measured amount of fluid which kills off faecal bacteria to prevent them degrading any haemoglobin from blood in the poo. It is this fluid which requires the use-by-date, since beyond that date the fluid's efficacy decreases meaning that less blood than was actually there at the time of taking the sample is detected, and so give a false result. alphalabs.co.uk |

Thanks for that. Leads to another question though. Why does this fluid not spill out when the stick is removed. I lay the holder on its side while sampling. Maybe it’s designed in such a way that wouldn’t happen, but I could easily have held it upside down. |
