I've been wearing my Garmin watch today even though I had no intention of going for a run. This morning it was telling the correct time.

This afternoon I was doing the ironing and glanced at my watch. 15:19! Nineteen minutes past Flossie's dinner time and she hadn't come and asked me for it! I quickly called her into the kitchen and gave her her dinner which she wolfed down. 'The afternoon's going quickly' I though to myself.

Then looking at the oven clocks I saw that it was only 14:19 and the Garmin had gone an hour ahead :-0 I had to to go into the garden and stand in the cold drizzle while it found a satellite to tell it the correct time for the UK.

My sister has just had a DNA analysis. Assuming that I am the same as her, it would seem that my genetic heritage is 51% Welsh and 24% English/NW European with a bit of Scots, Scandinavian (presumably Viking) and a little bit of Irish.

I've just spent a chunk of money on an adjustable atlas stone loading platform for the garage gym. That'll give the neighbours some excitement when it arrives.

Calling pension companies to get values and paperwork. This feels like the most adult thing I’ve ever done.

Going over to our friend’s house to cook and eat our dinner while they are not there (they know we were doing it). Felt very strange.

On Monday morning my sister went round to a friend's house to collect their mail (she's keeping an eye on the house while the friend and family are on holiday in NZ). Instead she discovered that there had been frozen pipes which had thawed and burst when temperatures rose on Sunday, and the water had brought down the ceilings in a bedroom and bathroom.

Having returned from a few days away my first task was to put the heating on override to warm the house up.
At 4:30 it still felt really quite cold so checked the heating had not switched off. It hadn’t, but the radiators were just luke warm.
On checking the thermostat I found that I hadn’t reset it up from 14c.
It’s just starting to warm up. 😀
